I am a DGA AD with over
7 years experience on dozens of projects. I’ve worked
on everything from the micro-budget indie to the big budget
studio film.
As a 1st AD I do not consider myself a “screamer.”
I’ve found that running an efficient set can still
be accomplished without creating unneeded tension. I do
this by understanding what the crew is up against trying
to do their jobs and treating them with dignity and respect.
That is not to say I am a push over. I still command authority;
I just do it without degrading people. I’m generally
liked by crews and I work well with Directors (and even
DPs).
As a 2nd AD I work well with all types of 1sts. I will
do my own script breakdown to ensure I understand the
script and schedule as best as I can so anticipating what
may be needed for any given scene becomes almost automatic.
I will do everything I can to support the 1st AD and Producers
in running an efficient and cost effective set.
I am confident and efficient setting background as I
am approving a call sheet. I am proficient in Movie Magic
Scheduling and I have production paperwork templates for
call sheets, PRs, Exhibit-Gs, etc, etc. I am extremely
thorough in my script breakdown and schedule and like
to have as much planned out as possible. Of course dealing
with problems and unplanned issues is a given on any film
set and I excel at just that. I am always willing to make
the best of a production with the resources at hand.
